Why Weight Loss Coaching?
Because I’ve traveled hundreds of miles in your shoes, and I personally know the emotional pain of being overweight, and of seeing a reflection in the mirror that didn’t match my internal drive. I am well acquainted with the utter frustration of not being able to permanently lose the unwanted pounds, because diet after diet failed me.
I know you, because I was you!
These days, whenever I bump into someone who I haven’t seen in a while, I get comments like these:
“Wow, you’ve lost weight!” “You look amazing!”
“I almost didn’t recognize you—you’ve lost so much weight!”
Often followed by, “how did you do it?” or “what’s your secret?”
Through a rather unusual series of events that could only have been orchestrated by the Lord, I stumbled upon what I like to call the “secret code” to weight loss and improved health. This secret code turned out to be a scientifically proven, but little known, nutritional fact, a fact widely ignored and unspoken of within the medical community. I didn’t know if it would work for me, but I was desperate enough to try. By gradually eliminating one thing from my diet, the pounds began to drop off and the aggravating food cravings disappeared.
It wasn’t easy in the beginning, because old habits die hard! By relying on a firm decision to improve my health, my faith in Christ, self-coaching, and a strong motivator (my first grandchild!), I kept the new lifestyle going, one day at a time. By adopting this new lifestyle, I have lost 62 pounds and kept it off for over 4 years. I feel better now than I did in my forties!!
Overall, I would describe my personal weight loss experience as a “joyful journey” and as the easiest thing I’ve ever done to lose the weight and keep it off. For me, the breakthrough feels truly nothing short of miraculous.
As a farm wife and mother of three, my time and energy outside of my career in healthcare was devoted to taking care of my family, growing a large vegetable garden, and helping with farm chores. I didn’t have the time to study nutrition or chase fitness at the gym.
With obesity, diabetes, and other chronic conditions currently skyrocketing to all-time highs, I feel called for “such a time as this” to empower women with the truth about nutrition, so that they can "win their own war with food”, once and for all.
